The annual general meeting of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons took place at Church House, Westminster, on July 8 despite the bombings in London the day before. Concerns that a quorum of members would not be achieved proved wide of the mark, and the meeting went ahead as planned. However, not all of those due to receive awards were able to attend the meeting, and a further awards ceremony will be held at Belgravia House on October 5. In his address to the meeting, the outgoing President, Mr John Parker, discussed progress during the year and highlighted the College's role in regulating the profession
