STOCK management is just one of the many things that veterinary surgeons in practice have to consider. However, it must be given serious thought, not least because profitability is affected if it is not done properly. Additionally, there are also legal responsibilities that have to be fulfilled under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations. Ruth Vernon discusses what information needs to be recorded to allow a practice to respond to, say, a batch recall, and ways to ensure accurate stock control.
