VETERINARY surgeons are comparatively lightly regulated and may still feel able to conduct business with their clients in a relatively relaxed and informal way. For a number of other professionals this is no longer an option, and it may not be too long before veterinary practices consider making contracts between themselves and their clients more explicit. Here, Nick Openshaw explains the benefits of setting out in writing the terms and conditions under which a practice will offer services to its clients.
