FERRETS are susceptible to a variety of viral, bacterial, parasitic, non‐infectious and nutritional diseases. This article reviews the clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of the more common clinical conditions seen in the pet and working ferret. An article in the last issue ( In Practice , February 2002, pp 90‐95) discussed the handling and examination of ferrets and described a number of routine clinical and surgical procedures.
