THE transition from being a student to being a practising veterinary surgeon brings with it many changes and new responsibilities. Coping with these changes can render new graduates particularly vulnerable to stress. In this article, Christine Stobbs discusses this transition period and provides some suggestions for helping to ensure that it is as pain‐free as possible.
