TRAPPED in practice? Daily grind getting you down? Indispensable within the workplace? Not so in John Head's practice. Since 1976, partners and assistants in his nine‐person practice in Cornwall have been able to take a sabbatical, whether to return to university, or to work for a period of time in a different country. In this article, he reflects on a sabbatical he took in South Africa and explores some of the practicalities of setting up such a trip.
