STRESS was, originally, solely an engineering concept relating to pressure but it has been transferred into everyday use to describe a kind of interaction between a person and their circumstances. In the last issue of [i]In Practice[/i] (March 1997, p 159), the definition of stress was explored. This article looks at some of the overt symptoms of stress.
