TO date, the 'toy or tool?' series has focused on a variety of items of equipment routinely used in veterinary practice. In this article, Pip Boydell and David Crossley present a cost:benefit analysis of a rather more specialist piece of equipment ‐ a computed tomography scanner ‐ which they have been using in their practice over the past two years.
