IT is a cliche of most professions that a partnership is like a marriage, but much more difficult to handle. It might be flattering to be asked to become involved in either relationship, but flattery is as poor a basis for deciding to say 'Yes, please' as it is to say 'I do'. This article hopes to make the selection of a partnership less haphazard than choosing a spouse. It is far better viewed as an arranged marriage, where an informed decision is taken rather than a gamble.
