Case history A 10-year-old neutered female domestic shorthaired cat was presented with a painful right facial (maxillary) swelling of seven to 10 days' duration with partial closure of the right eye. The cat was reported to be inappetent and dysphagic. Two months previously, the cat had been presented with dysphagia and at that time had received dental attention including extraction of the right upper molar teeth which were loose and associated with oral haemorrhage. On opening the cat's mouth, this lesion was found.
