Dawn McHugh qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1978 while working in small animal practice in Cambridge. In 1983, she joined the Cambridge Veterinary School as an operating theatre assistant and remained there until October 1989 when she left Dawn McHugh to join the Animal Health Trust as theatre superintendent and head nurse, working in both the Small Animal and Equine Clinics. At present she is studying for the diploma in advanced veterinary nursing. She is Senior Examiner for veterinary nursing final examinations.
