Use of checklists in a clinical setting can improve both the quality and safety of the care that a patient receives. In the September issue of In Practice , Catherine Oxtoby and Liz Mossop discussed clinical governance and the use of checklists in human medicine and the lessons for veterinary practice ( IP , September 2016, pp 408–410). Here, they look at how checklists can be implemented in a veterinary setting.
