With the number of South American camelids in the UK increasing, there is a need for veterinary surgeons to familiarise themselves with anatomy, physiology and common presentations of the different species. An article in the June issue of In Practice (vol 35, pp 317‐324) described diseases in adult camelids. This article discusses some of the more common disease presentations seen in young camelids in the UK.
