Arthroscopy is becoming the gold standard for diagnosing and treating many intra‐articular conditions in small animals. Specialist training and equipment are required; however, once proficient, arthroscopy is quicker, less traumatic and more sensitive at diagnosing pathology than an arthrotomy. This article discusses the techniques and the equipment required, along with indications and possible complications.
