Forty-two bacterial strains were isolated from root samples ofSorghum bicolor . The strains spanned 17 genera, includingDechloromonas ,Duganella ,Dyella ,Flavobacterium ,Herbaspirillum ,Lutibacter ,Mucilaginibacter ,Novosphingobium ,Paraburkholderia ,Pedobacter ,Pleomorphomonas ,Rhizobacter ,Rhizobium ,Rhizomicrobium ,Rugamonas ,Variovorax , andXanthobacter . Their whole-genome sequences revealed diverse metabolic processes, including biological nitrogen fixation, in sorghum root microbiota.
