Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative, opportunistic pathogen that causes nosocomial pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and bacteremia. A hallmark ofP. aeruginosa pathogenesis is disruption of host cell function by the type III secretion system (T3SS) and its cognate exoenzyme effectors.
