Quinupristin-dalfopristin produced postantibiotic effects (PAEs) and postantibiotic sub-MIC effects of >2 h against 18 gram-positive cocci. Mean pneumococcal and staphylococcal PAEs were 2.8 and 4.7 h, respectively, with shorter PAEs for constitutively than inducibly macrolide-resistant staphylococci. Mean PAEs for vancomycin-susceptible and -resistantEnterococcus faecium were 8.5 and 2.6 h, respectively.
