The physical imaging performance of ST‐V, ST‐VA, and ST‐VN computed radiography image plates, read with a Philips AC3 acquisition system, was investigated at 70 kVp with 0.5 mm of copper beam filtration for four different entrance air kerma values: 0.5, 2.6, 26, and 260 μGy. Measurements included characteristic response, presampling‐modulation transfer function, and Wiener spectrum analysis for ( 18 × 24 ) cm 2image plates, sampled at 10 pixels/mm. These results were used to calculate DQE spectral descriptions of system performance. ST‐VN image plates exhibited a slightly superior DQE performance for the two lower entrance air kerma values investigated.
