Digital mammography has become the technology of choice for breast imaging with many FDA‐approved systems already available and more on the way. Currently the FDA requires facilities to use quality control manuals published by the FFDM unit manufacturer. The ACR is close to finishing a FFDM QC Manual that will be used as a single manual to accredit all FFDM systems regardless of manufacturer or detector type. This lecture will present the content of the ACR QC Manual that include sections for the Radiologist, Technologist, and Medical Physicist. QC tests and documentation will be covered along with a section to highlight the significant differences from manufacturer manuals to the ACR manual. Learning Objectives: 1. To introduce the upcoming ACR FFDM QC Manual. 2. To detail the radiologist, technologist and medical physicist roles and responsibilities. 3. To introduce the technologist and medical physicist QC tests.
