This section of the session will be an overview of the historical development of SBRT in terms of clinical implementation from the earliest efforts up to the present day as well as a presentation of selected aspects of the applied radiobiology of SBRT that appear to have clinical relevance. Learning Objectives: 1. Review key milestones in the evolution of SBRT from earliest clinical implementation to present day application. 2. Discuss viewpoints on available means of modeling tumor and normal tissue responses to SBRT‐style radiation therapy regimens. 3. Present sources available to guide the clinical implementation of SBRT in terms of reasonable normal tissue dose constraints for different sites within the body.
