The AAPM has collaborated with the RSNA in producing web‐based educational modules in physics intended principally for radiology residents but also useful as learning tools for graduate students in medical physics. Phase 1 of the module project has been completed and 30 modules, each requiring about an hour of the student's time, are now available on the RSNA website, with an active link from the AAPM website. Another 16 modules comprise Phase 2; these modules are being produced now and will be released by the end of the year. The modules are designed for self‐learning, so that the medical physicist can teach through interactions and Q&A with the residents and students rather than lecturing to them. This approach to teaching is more effective for the residents and students and more rewarding for the physicist. At the end of this presentation the participant will: 1. Know how to access the RSNA/AAPM web‐based physics modules 2. Know the titles of the modules in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the RSNA/AAPM project. 3. Appreciate the usefulness of the modules for radiology residents and medical physics graduate students. 4. Understand the importance of questions embedded in the text and in the post‐test. 5. Recognize the opportunity the modules present for a new teaching role for medical physicists.
