In 7 out of 8 experiments in which the pituitary body had been removed for two or more hours, the renal blood flow increased in parallel with large increases of blood pressure. This and previous work suggests that after hypophysectomy there is an alteration of the response of kidneys to pressure in dogs, and that the pituitary body contributes a vasoconstrictor principle to the blood.
