A quick and convenient method of estimating and standardising the numerical concentration of sperm suspensions is described. This consists in comparing the opacity of a diluted sample of the suspension with that of a range of ten graded opacity tubes, and then diluting the bulk of the suspension down to a standard concentration, the amount of dilution depending upon the result of the opacity test.
