Certain changes are described in the organs of thyroidectomised sheep and goats, namely, paleness of skeletal muscles, dilatation of heart with calcification of the aorta and pulmonary artery, nephritic lesions, persistence of the epiphyseal cartilages, myxœdema, and hypertrophy of the adrenals. There seems to be an inter‐relation between the thyroids and the adrenals of sheep. The changes in the osseous, muscular, and cardiovascular systems are due to an arrest of development resulting from removal of the thyroids. This research was aided by a grant from the Hekscher Foundation of Cornell University.
