The results recorded in this paper show that many substances besides thyroid extract and thyroxin deflect the Arneth count in the rabbit. Each one of these substances produces at the same time a polymorph leucocytosis, and we may conclude that the substances which deflect the count do so by stimulating the bone marrow and thus causing an outpouring of the younger forms of polymorph, which have simple nuclear configuration. Although representative experiments only are given, the results have been arrived at by the consideration of the effects on from three to six animals in the case of each drug.
