The response of the heart of Scyllium to adrenaline and related drugs is described and discussed in terms of its permeability to ions in the perfusing solution. It is a pleasure to express thanks to Dr Allen and the staff at Plymouth for their aid in procuring material, as well as to Dr Lancelot Hogben for his suggestions and assistance in the conduct of these experiments.
