Summary Wave propagation in an elastic medium rotating with a constant angular velocity Ω about an axis is studied by the method of Lighthill [1]. The waves are created by a concentrated periodic force of fixed frequency ω at the origin. The changes in the wave pattern and the decay of amplitude are discussed when 2Ω. increases from zero to a value greater than ω .
