Oscillation criteria for the first‐order linear delay differential equationx ′ ( t ) + p ( t ) x ( τ ( t ) ) = 0 ,     t ⩾ 0 , τ ( t ) < t ,are established. Our results improve the known results in the literature. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification 34K15.
