This paper aims to explain the misuse of prepositions among students in writing based on Error Analysis Theory (Corder, 1981). The data of the study were obtained through literature-based and observation methods with the help of instruments included questionnaire form. The respondents of this study consist of 20 form 2 students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Manjung, Manjung, Perak. The findings of this study shows that the level of mastery of students in the use of prepositions is at satisfactory level. Students are found to be confused with the functions of the prepositions ‘dari’ and ‘daripada’ when both if them used in sentences. This study is an effort to improve the mastery of Malay speakers, especially in prepositions.
