The main goal of this article is fourfold: (1) to give an overview of the Multilingual Schizophrenia Project (MSP) together with the salient features of the language organization in the multilingual brain/mind; (2) to document and identify the speech traits of a female schizophrenic multilingual patient afflicted with a sub‐type of auditory schizophrenia in which the patient hears body‐internal voices; (3) to compare and contrast schizophrenic speech patterns with normal multilingual verbal behavior; and (4) to use language organization in the multilingual brain/mind as a source of evidence to decode language and thinking disturbance in schizophrenic subjects. This paper is a first‐of‐its kind analysis, exploring and documenting the linguistic nature of multilingual schizophrenia in Indian English, Hindi and Urdu. Although the analysis presented here is based on a single in‐depth case study, the generalizations drawn may be valid for other schizophrenic subjects.
