Cover legend: Lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) begin to act on the stage center. X‐ray ‐crystallography ‐information of lipid transfer proteins in ‐complex with lipid ligands was obtained from the RCSB protein ‐database (PDB). With the UCSF Chimera program, proteins with ligands were three‐dimensionally viewed. From top left to bottom right, human CERT START domain with C16‐ceramide (PDB code: 2E3O), yeast Osh3p ‐OSBP‐related domain with phosphatidylinositol 4‐monophosphate (PDB code: 4INQ), human α‐tocopherol transfer ‐protein with α‐tocopherol (PDB code: 1OIP), and human glycolipid transfer protein with ‐lactosylceramide, (PDB code: 1SX6). Lipid ligands are shown as the sphere model. For detail, see the ‐thematic review series that starts from this issue. (Image courtesy of Kentaro Hanada) See ‐Hurlock et al.
