While participation in study abroad continues to increase, and both pre‐departure and in‐country support and interventions have become more robust, the re‐entry experience after a program ends still typically takes a back seat to other priorities. Consequently, most students are left to navigate the re‐entry transition on their own. This article discusses the challenges that today's study abroad students face in re‐entry and presents new ideas and approaches for intentionally guiding returnees through re‐entry after studying in a German‐speaking country.
