Aim This article discusses an observation made within the Hull Royal Infirmary. It aims to explain how the use of smart phone images of paediatric lacerations, as taken by the child's parents, can be used as an aid for triaging patients in the emergency department. Materials and methods Clinical observations. Results and conclusions It is the authors’ opinion that attention to detail and small changes in practice play an important role in improving overall patient care.
