Foreign bodies lodged in the soft tissues of the hard palate have been reported in the literature but are few in number. Each object will differ in its appearance and can be a worrying presentation for patients, parents and clinicians. A case is presented of a 14‐month‐old patient presenting with an unusual lesion on the hard palate. The presentation, assessment and management of these cases are discussed and the need for a thorough examination to guide a differential diagnosis is highlighted.
