Unicystic ameloblastoma ( UA ) is a subtype that represents 5–22% of all ameloblastoma types. In this report, a 41‐year‐old patient is presented with a swelling in the right side of the mouth since 2 months with no facial disfigurement. On clinical examination, a firm non‐tender mass bulging between the right lower first and second premolars. Fine‐needle aspiration yielded only little non‐specific fluid. A panoramic radiograph was taken, which showed a large well‐defined radiolucency measured about 3.5 cm in diameter resembling a lateral periodontal cyst. The lesion was totally removed by surgical enucleation under local anaesthesia. The histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of UA of mural type. The patient was informed of the prognosis and put on periodic follow‐up.
