Aim While parenting has been researched and explored in both the professional and public realms, elements of the current key constructs involving the positive parenting of a child are still missing. The aim of this article is to define the concept of positive or “good” parenting to further extend research toward child health promotion knowledge across disciplines. Methods The W alker and A vant's concept analysis method was applied to this analysis. Sources Published literature and G oogle search on the worldwide web. Conclusion This analysis provides a definition of positive parenting. The key constructs found within this definition build a foundation for further research to develop measurable outcomes for positive parenting skills. These variables can also assist with research aims geared toward interventions to promote positive parenting.SeayFreysteinsonMcFarlane
