Summary A rapid method of susceptibility testing of yeasts to 5‐fluorocytosine is demonstrated. The method is based on photometric determination of the optical density of yeast suspensions before and after incubation for 4h in the presence of the antifungal. The method was evaluated with 50 Candida strains.
