This is a retrospective review of contributions to the understanding of ticks and associated diseases published in M edical and V eterinary E ntomology since its first issue. It highlights the large and significant changes in the style and conduct of this field over the last 25 years. The selected papers refer to disease‐related categories of host immunity to ticks, population dynamics, pathogen transmission and tick control.
