Although frequently diagnosed in hospital in‐patients, delirium is often recognised but under‐reported in the housestaff population. It is estimated that more than 90% of housestaff will experience regular episodes of post‐call delirium. This paper identifies diagnostic criteria and discusses approaches to treatment.
