My submission is under the “lived experience narrative” you are kindly publishing. It is the story of my journey through psychosis and aims to elicit empathy from professionals and lay readers alike. It shines a light on the general nature of mental illness hoping to provide an insight to those working in the fields of psychiatry and nursing. At the same time, it touches upon the use of labels, alternative mental health practices and the role of capitalism in mental illness. Ultimately, it shows there is a life to be had when you learn to carry your diagnosis with hope.
