During a survey of fungal plant diseases, parasitized uredinial pustules of Coleosporium plumeriae were observed in Umiam, Meghalaya, India. Microscopic examination was conducted using light and scanning electron microscopy which revealed the occurrence of the hyperparasitic hyphomycete Ramularia coleosporii . Molecular characterization using the ITS 1‐5.8S‐ ITS 2 region of nr DNA also confirmed our results. This is the first record of R. coleosporii on C. plumeriae from India.
