Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) is one of the most devastating threats to the vegetable industry. A rapid, stable and sensitive one‐step reverse transcription loop‐mediated isothermal amplification ( RT ‐ LAMP ) assay was developed for detecting Tu MV . This method is very rapid and sensitive. The sensitivity was c. 10‐fold higher than that of conventional RT ‐ PCR in detecting Tu MV . In addition, it does not require specialized equipment and can be performed under general experimental conditions. This RT ‐ LAMP method has great potential usefulness for Tu MV detection, identification and control strategies.
