Emerging Hazelnut Cultivation and the Severe Threat of Bacterial Blight in C hile

Severe attacks of bacterial blight were observed on young plants throughout the hazelnut growing areas in C hile. The incidence of the disease in nurseries and fields ranged from 60–90%. The causal agent was identified as X anthomonas arboricola pv. corylina , based on phenotypic and genetic tests.
