A group of newborn Infants had urinary FDP levels measured during the first week of life. During this time the urine contained high levels of FDP which were present in some infants for seven days. The general trend was one of high levels in the first three days with a gradual subsidence thereafter. There appeared to be no relation to gestation, birth weight or mode of delivery.
