Abstract A standardized periapical radiograph is still the most suitable technique for monitoring peri‐implant osseous destruction during long‐term treatment. This article describes a new method for custom fabrication of an acrylic template with standardized reproducible assessment of implants retaining mandibular bar overdentures, without removal of the bar and regardless of the implant system used.
