A case of primigravida complicated with a huge leiomyoma which weighed 10 kg and revealed very rapid growth in the first trimester of pregnancy is presented. Though atypical ultrasonographic findings and the clinical course prevented our correct diagnosis, the histologic examination, which showed massive edema, revealed the leiomyoma's presence. Diagnostic problems and etiology are discussed.
