Front cover: The expression of human Aβ42 in the eyes of the animals is toxic and induces a rough eye phenotype. We have developed a small, peptidic inhibitor of Aβ42 (D‐AIP) and have shown that it is able to rescue Aβ42‐induced toxicity in the female animals as pictured. We believe that our D‐AIP peptide provides a novel mechanism of action to reduce amyloid toxicity, thus providing a promising new prophylactic strategy to delay and/or prevent the onset of AD. Image Content: Representative live confocal images of the compound eye of female Aβ42 transgenic Drosophila melanogaster at day 5 post‐eclosion with D‐AIP supplementation, imaged using autofluorescence signals only, scale bar: 200μm.Read the full article ‘Label‐free distribution of anti‐amyloid D‐AIP in Drosophila melanogaster: prevention of Aβ42‐induced toxicity without side effects in transgenic flies’ by Y.
