Abstract An orphan female chimpanzee was wounded by a left craniocerebral gunshot complicated with a right hemiparesis. Local treatment and long‐term antibiotherapy failed to lead to healing. A neurosurgical procedure was planned and achieved. She fully recovered, and 2 years after the procedure, there is no evidence of infection.
