Peroxisomes are small organelles with diverse metabolic functions, and are essential to plant growth and development. In this issue, Pan et al. (784–802) summarizes findings that reveal the importance and complexity of the role of peroxisomes in reproduction, seed development and germination, and seedling establishment. Shown are confocal microscopic images from Arabidopsis plants expressing the peroxisomal marker cyan fluorescent protein (CFP)‐peroxisomal targeting signal type 1 (SKL). Photos were taken by Ms Yuchan Zhang.
