The use of internet-based "eHealth" technology to facilitate healthcare is becoming increasingly prominent due to multiple constraints on traditional healthcare resources. Evidence for its efficacy has been shown for multiple psychiatric conditions (including Major Depressive Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder). However research involving gastrointestinal (GI) conditions is limited. This study will review the GI-focused eHealth research conducted to date and also review the recently developed eHealth platforms for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (www.IBDclinic.org) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (www.IBSclinic.org.au). Advantages and disadvantages of eHealth will also be reviewed
